A Declaration – Before the Chaos
Sunday 8th MarThis year I’m taking part in Mullets for Mental Health with the Black Dog Institute. The plan is simple: grow a proper mullet and probably dye it a deep red.
If people donate, that’s great — the funds support mental health research and programs through the Black Dog Institute. But the real point for me is the conversation.
Mental health awareness doesn’t always come from a donation page. Sometimes it comes from weird haircuts, awkward questions, and random chats.
So if you see me with a mullet and red hair:
Ask me about it.
Ask how many strange looks I got that day.
Ask why I’m doing it.
Or I might ask you how you’re going.
The conversation goes both ways — and it matters just as much.
If you’d like to donate, you’re welcome to.
If not, come say hi and start a conversation instead.
Either way, the mullet will still be happening
(much to the dismay of my ego — but the beard is staying, so she’ll be right).
