Mullets for Mental Health

After a pretty rough year, Kyden is excited to support the Black Dog Institute's Mullets for Mental Health this April. He is lucky enough to be in a school with great staff, amazing support staff and brilliant programs that have helped him with resilience when facing his problems.  His goal is to help kids facing anxiety and depression, by fundraising for resources to get into the right hands.

1 in 5 Australians will experience mental illness in their lifetime. Over 75% of mental health problems occur before the age of 25.

Kyden’s mullet and funds raised will help drive real change and fund ground-breaking mental health research. This will put digital services and education into the hands of people who need it the most.

It would mean a lot to Kyden if you donated to support his epic mullet.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

This majestic thing is currently measuring in at 53cm from crown to ends

Feburary 2026 and growing strong

Since it started to build a personality, the mullet has only ever had a tidy up trim on the ends. The top needs a regular cut and thin out, and the sides get a #1 with the clippers. This bad boy had a freshen up last week with Alex at Leo’s Mens Hairdresser, ready to start the new school year

The beginning…

March 2022… this cutie patootie asked for “parasaurolophus hair”… and hasn’t looked back since A huge shout out to Leo’s Mens Hairdressers in Bunbury for all their patience with all of the visits between my 3 boys - 10 years of screaming, craziness, and random demands (usually involving Spiderman or dinosaurs). Huge props to to them for supporting the mullet every single cut 💙
