Growing My Mullet for Mental Health – Support Black Dog Institute & Anatolian Queers Collective

This April, I’m growing my mullet for Black Dog Institute’s Mullets for Mental Health—because mental health matters, and no one should struggle alone. I’ll be sharing an updated picture in the first week of March 2025.

As an Anatolian Queer individual settled on Gadigal Land, my mental health journey has been deeply personal. Since coming out in 2022, I’ve faced family domestic violence, cancel culture, and isolation—experiences that pushed me to the edge. For a long time, suicide felt like just one step away. But I held on—to myself, my truth, and my identity. Every day, I looked in the mirror, and reminded myself:
I am here. I am real. I am enough.

Then, I found my queer community—mental health professionals, community practitioners,  colleagues, students, and friends who welcomed me with open arms.

From this journey, @AnatolianQueersCollective was born, a space where we uplift each other and ensure no one feels alone.

Now, it’s my turn to give back.
Suicide is real. But so is hope.
You are not alone. We can get through this—together.

Support the cause, share this message, and let’s break the stigma around mental health.
